Re_Peacock_Man 2004 _Installations

Re-Peacock-Man takes its roots from the lecture of one of Marius Schneider’s texts, Singing Stones, Study on the rythm of three Catalan Cloisters in romantic style.
In the book, through the study of the capitals of the colonnade and their spatial disposition, Schneider associates the Re musical note to the peacock, and at the same time to the man. In Re-Peacock-Man we find an attempt to associate them, creating a sounding column which contains them both in a symbolical way. The sound passes through us while we contemplate the peacock’s feathers and we see the outside through the grid.
The sound composition refers to William Basinski’s and Phil Niblock’s opera. A prolonged Re note played in unison by different instruments, at different pitchs. Together with that, a number of sampled noises which give the impression of elusive glances.
